Note: To use this feature with Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the game must first be updated to Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo.
All Animal Crossing amiibo cards and figures are compatible with Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo.
- Scan Animal Crossing amiibo figures to invite them to the Campground area in the game. (With their own stylish RV!) These characters offer players special in-game items that provide access to the new Desert Island Escape and Animal Crossing Puzzle League mini-games.
- Scan Animal Crossing amiibo cards to invite the pictured character to come to your town. Characters on amiibo cards in the Welcome amiibo series can appear in the new Campground.
- Scan select non-Animal Crossing amiibo figures to access new furniture items unique to those characters.
And, since the bug hampering the eviction process has been fixed, you can use Animal Crossing amiibo cards to engineer your perfect village. It just well, won’t happen overnight. With Animal Crossing: New Horizons now with us, it's as good a time as any to dust off those Animal Crossing amiibo cards you bought when New Leaf got its 'Welcome amiibo' update and put them to.
Complete these steps
Animal Crossing Amiibo Card Qr Codes

Update: during today’s Animal Crossing Direct (on November 2nd), Nintendo announced that the special packs of Animal Crossing amiibo cards would launch on November 25th in Europe.

During yesterday’s Nintendo 3DS Direct presentation, Nintendo announced that the Animal Crossing series would get a 5th series of amiibo cards. This new series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards will be launched on November 3rd in Japan, November 11th in Europe, and December 2nd in North America, and will feature animals that do not appear in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
And today, Nintendo announced a special collaboration with Sanrio, in Japan. On November 3rd, Nintendo will launch special packs of amiibo cards. Those packs include the following:
- 2 Animal Crossing amiibo cards, picked up at random
- 1 seal, also picked at random
But what’s interesting about the cards is that they’re unique. There’s 6 of them, and they all feature a specific animal. Just like other cards, when you scan it in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the animal will come live in your village. It will bring its own furniture, in its camping car.
What makes those 6 cards so special is that the furniture is based on a famous Sanrio character: Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, Little Twin Stars, My Melody, Keroppi, and Cinnamoroll. About the seals included in the packs: they feature a special illustration with a famous Animal Crossing character and one of the Sanrio characters:
- Isabelle x Hello Kitty
- Timmy & Tommy x Little Twin Stars
- Mr. Resetti x Pompompurin
- Lottie x My Melody
- Kapp’n x Keroppi
- K. K. Slider x Cinnamoroll
Unfortunately, there’s a catch: the Sanrio characters will not appear in the game, just the special furniture.
Here’s what the cards, the seals, and the packaging look like:
Finally, here’s a promotional video for this collaboration:
